1,220 killed in various train mishaps in 5 years: Railway Board




Over 1200 persons were killed in various train mishaps in India in the last five years, with accidents at unmanned level crossings accounting for 717 fatalities.
The Railway Board has provided these year-wise (April to March) figures in reply to an RTI query filed by president of Thane District Rail Passengers' Association Om Prakash Sharma.
Mishaps at unmanned level crossing claimed 146 lives in 2006-07, 148 in 2007-08, 129 in 2008-09, 170 in 2009-10 and 124 in 2010-11.
The number of people killed due to train mishaps was maximum in 2010-11, with 374 registered deaths. 208 people were killed in rail mishaps in 2006-07, 191 in 2007-08, 209 in 2008-09 and 238 in 2009-10.
According to the Railway Board, deaths due to train collisions was maximum (239) in 2010-11. Of the total number of deaths in 2010-11, 64 per cent which is 239 of the total was on account of collision. Out of the 49 deaths due to train derailment, 13 were in 2007-08, the reply added.
In the last five years, the total number of persons injured in train accidents was 2,124, out of which, 469 were injured in 2010-11. The number of injured was 402 in 2006-07, 412 in 2007-08, 444 in 2008-09, and 397 in 2009-10, it said.
Sharma said, "The number of train accidents and the resulting loss of human lives is on the rise, as revealed by the Railway Board figures. The railway authorities should immediately take precautionary measures, especially at the unmanned level crossings, so that precious human lives are not lost."

    Hi Everybody
    I am Anjali Raghav Student of BBA final year last semester from Global Business School.I am in last semester ,then Global Business School Shift all Students to GIIPM,Noida.There are Some points related to my problem:
    1-when they Shift Students,nobody co-ordinate with Students neither Guardians.
    2-There is Some Addmissions taken with 10% discount in student fees or Some Candidates taken like 10% discounts in only first year fees.
    3-i have written statement from Director Sir,Mr. V.S. Srivastava to given Discount 10% in total fees.when we talk this thing ,there is dean mam,Ms. Sapna Bansal Also Available.
    4-They have taken 5000 Rupees for giving Dress,but i haven't recieved Dress.
    5-also we have received books only in first year.after that we received only photocopies 10 days before exams.

    at last when Student Transferred into GIIPM,then the Ownwer of Global Business School,Mr. Pankaj Jindal don't want to talk this topic.and send the details of fees without discount to GIIPM .
    Now,The Chairman of GIIPM ,Mr. Shishupal Shankar given ultimatum to me and my father to cancel the Admission and also he don't want to talk with us..and now we are blocked.Nobody wants to meet us.because we have written statement,So they all ignored us.
    We were meet Director Sir of GBS,He again agree with us.But Mr. Pankaj Jindal don't want to agree with this.

    Can you tell me This is the Second best or fake College in Noida.Same post i have post on GIIPM Noida ,but He don't want to show the reality of that College So He delete my post.
